The AE1-AN-5F is an 8 mm diameter, 60 mm long tubular inductive proximity sensor from AutomationDirect, offering a 3 mm nominal sensing distance for non-contact metal detection. Housed in chrome-plated brass and shielded for noise immunity, it provides a normally open NPN output via a 3-pin M8 quick-disconnect connector and is rated IP67 for use in wet or dusty environments. Operating from 10–30 VDC with a 1 kHz switching frequency, this sensor supports semi-flush mounting and is designed for high-speed sensing on automated production lines, with an operating temperature range of −25 to 70 °C.
