AutomationDirect CXP-AP-1A Photoelectric Sensor

AutomationDirect's CXP-AP-1A is a compact, rectangular photoelectric sensor designed for polarized retroreflective detection at up to 2 meters. It emits a visible red beam and uses a dark-on switching mode with a switching frequency up to 1 kHz, delivering a PNP (sourcing) output via a 3-wire pigtail with 26 AWG conductors on a 2 m cable. Operating from 10 to 36 V DC, this IP65-rated sensor features a 30 x 15 x 30 mm plastic housing and an adjustable potentiometer on the face for sensitivity tuning. The device requires a reflector (purchased separately) to complete the retroreflective sensing setup and is part of AutomationDirect's CX-series family. With a 2 m sensing distance, it is suitable for small- to mid-sized parts on conveyors, packaging lines, and automation stations that demand a compact, durable sensor with precise retroreflective detection.
