AutomationDirect STP-DRV-4035 SureStep microstepping drive provides precise, current-controlled operation for bipolar stepper motors, delivering up to 3.5 A per phase with a 140 W maximum output from a 12–42 VDC supply, and it uses a 3-state 20 kHz PWM with MOSFET switches. Microstepping resolutions are selectable via DIP switches at 400 (200×2), 1000 (200×5), 2000 (200×10), or 10000 (200×50) steps per revolution, with the motor current adjustable in 32 discrete levels from 0.4 to 3.5 A per phase and idle current reduction options of 0% or 50%. The device uses opto-coupled inputs with a 440 Ω resistor; 5–15 mA input current; pulse on the falling edge; direction and enable signals; Self Test can rotate in half-step mode producing a 1/2 revolution in each direction at 100 steps/second.
