Autonics BUP-30S Photo Sensor

Autonics BUP-30S is a U-shaped through-beam photoelectric sensor in a durable ABS housing with a slot-style, forked design that keeps optical axes aligned and enables reliable detection of opaque objects at a 30 mm gap. Powered by 12–24 V DC, it ships with a 2 m, Ø4 mm lead wire and provides an NPN open-collector output; the unit supports both Light ON and Dark ON operation through a control wire, aligning with PLC wiring practices. Equipped with a 940 nm infrared LED, the BUP-30S delivers a rapid 1 ms response time and carries an IP66 enclosure rating for dust and water resistance, suitable for harsh industrial environments such as conveyors and packaging lines. The sensor detects opaque targets as small as Ø1.5 mm within its 30 mm range, with an operating temperature span from -25 to 65 C and 35–85% relative humidity, and includes green power and red operation indicators to simplify status checks.
