Autonics BUP-50 Photo Sensor

The Autonics BUP-50 is a through-beam, U-shaped photoelectric sensor with a 50 mm sensing distance for detecting opaque targets as small as Ø4 mm. It runs on 12–24 VDC (±10% tolerance, ripple up to 10%) and offers a single NPN open-collector output, selectable between Light On and Dark On via the control wire. The 940 nm infrared emitter provides a max 1 ms response time and a current draw up to 30 mA. Encased in ABS with a PC cap and an IP66 rating, the unit weighs approximately 115 g and ships with a 2 m cable for easy installation. Key environmental specs include operating temperatures from -25 to 65 C (storage -25 to 70 C) and 35–85% RH, with ambient illumination tolerance of sunlight up to 11,000 lx and incandescent lighting up to 3,000 lx. Ideal for inline detection on conveyors or packaging lines, the BUP-50's fixed sensitivity and Through-beam configuration deliver reliable separation of moving parts without external adjustments.
