Autonics CR18-8DN2 Capacitive Proximity Sensor 12-24VDC NPN

Autonics CR18-8DN2 Capacitive Proximity Sensor is an M18 cylindrical switch with a 12-24 VDC, 3-wire supply and an NPN normally closed (NC) output, designed for detecting ferrous targets with a compact footprint. It offers an 8 mm sensing distance and a standard sensing target of 50 × 50 × 1 mm iron, a 50 Hz response, and a low current draw of up to 15 mA. The body is PA6, rated IP66 for dust and water resistance, and it operates across -25 to 70 °C with 35–95% relative humidity (storage: -30 to 80 °C, 35–95% RH). The CR18-8DN2 weighs approximately 76–88 g depending on variant and uses a DC 3-wire configuration for straightforward wiring into PLCs and control circuits. As part of Autonics CR Series, the CR18-8DN2 shares the line’s cylindrical capacitive sensing approach, providing reliable metal-target detection in compact form factors for applications such as machine guarding, conveyor sensing, or end-of-line position sensing where a robust, screw-in M18 sensor is preferred.
