B&B Electronics ESP904 Ethernet To Serial Server

The B&B Electronics Vlinx ESP904 Ethernet Serial Server is a quad-port bridge that lets four serial devices appear on an Ethernet network. Each serial port uses a DB-9M connector and can be software-configured as RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485, with RS-232 operating as DTE. A 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet interface provides TCP/IP access to connected devices for remote data collection and control over a LAN or WAN. Management is available through the ESP Manager software, a Web Server, and Telnet, with configurable Console, Default, and Upgrade modes for setup and firmware maintenance. Firmware is version 3.0, and the ESP904 is powered by a 12 V DC supply via a power input. Typical applications include industrial automation, remote monitoring of multiple serial instruments, and SCADA-style data acquisition where multiple serial ports must be networked.
