The B&R X20BB82 X20 bus base module is the two-slot backbone of the X20 I/O system, designed to connect the base module (BC, HB, and related components) and the X20 power supply, while providing two expansion slots for additional add-on modules. It ships with two end-cover plates (X20AC0SL1 and X20AC0SR1) to finish the enclosure and keeps the system compact and organized. With two expansion positions, you can install two X20 add-on modules—such as interface modules (X20IF family) or hub modules (X20HB family)—to tailor the I/O topology to the application, enabling scalable automation for machine control, packaging, and process tasks. As part of B&R's modular X20 backplane, the X20BB82 supports tight integration with Automation Studio for configuration and commissioning and forms the foundation for expandable I/O in a wide range of industrial environments.
