B&R Industrial Automation X20-IF-1082 Ethernet PowerLink Interface Module

X20-IF-1082 is a B&R X20 system interface module that adds a single POWERLINK interface to an X20 controller, enabling deterministic real-time POWERLINK communication as a managing or controlled node on the POWERLINK network. It supports POWERLINK versions 1 and 2 and provides an integrated 2-port hub to simplify cabling within compact automation cabinets, while the ring redundancy function helps maintain communications in the event of a single link or node failure. The module is designed to extend an X20 CPU’s capabilities for application-specific expansion of the machine’s I/O and peripheral connectivity, allowing seamless integration of POWERLINK devices into the X20 ecosystem. This makes it suitable for architectures that rely on POWERLINK for deterministic device communication, including sensors, actuators, and field peripherals connected across multiple nodes. An alternative variant, X20IF1082-2, adds a PRC function while preserving the same 1 POWERLINK interface, ring redundancy, and hub integration for more advanced POWERLINK configurations.
