B&R Industrial Automation X20BC0073 CAN IO Bus Controller

X20BC0073 is a CAN I/O bus controller for B&R’s X20 System that bridges X2X Link I/O nodes to CAN I/O devices, enabling CAN-based I/O within the X20 automation architecture. It provides a single CAN I/O interface and supports connections of up to 44 CAN I/O modules to the bus controller. The module operates as a CAN I/O slave and uses B&R’s CAN I/O protocol integrated into the X20 system for I/O communication. On the front, it exposes LEDs for module status, bus function, and data transfer, and includes a termination resistor switch at the bottom to configure bus network termination. An optional TB2105 terminal block must be ordered separately to connect the bus controller into the CAN network. The X20BC0073 consumes about 1.5 W of power and is part of the X20 Fieldbus I/O family designed to work with B&R controllers in the X20 ecosystem; typical applications include expanding CAN I/O for sensors, actuators, and other devices in an automated machine or line where CAN I/O needs to be integrated with a B&R control system.
