Balluff BES 516-324-E4-C-03 Photoelectric Sensor

Balluff BES 516-324-E4-C-03 is an 8 mm-diameter cylindrical inductive proximity sensor (M8x1) with flush-mount capability and a 30 mm stainless-steel housing, featuring a PBT sensing face. It detects metal targets at a nominal distance (Sn) of 1.5 mm, with an assured operating distance (Sa) of about 1.20 mm and Sr of 1.50 mm, and a hysteresis up to 15% of Sr. Supplied from 10–30 V DC (Ue 24 V nominal), it provides a PNP normally open switching output rated for up to 200 mA with a static voltage drop up to 2.5 V. The three-conductor cable (0.14 mm²) measures 3.00 m and uses a PVC jacket. The sensor is IP68 rated and suitable for harsh industrial environments, with an ambient temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C. Applications include compact metal-detection and position sensing on conveyors, machinery components, and other automation tasks where flush mounting and a small footprint are essential. It carries standard approvals such as CE, cULus, and EAC, making it compatible with many automation controls and safety circuits.
