Description:
Balluff BES 516-325-G-E5-C-S4 is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor with a threaded M12x1 connection and a 4 mm sensing distance. It uses a PNP normally-open output and operates on 10–30 V DC (24 V nominal), with a maximum load current of 200 mA. The housing is CuZn with a nickel-free coating, and the sensing face is made of LCP; it is designed for flush mounting with a 30.0 mm mounting length and uses a 4-pin M12 connector (S04). The sensor's real switching distance is Sn 4.0 mm, with Sr 4.0 mm (tolerance ±10%) and Sa 3.2 mm; hysteresis is 15% of Sr and temperature drift up to 10% of Sr. It supports up to 2,000 Hz switching frequency and a ready delay up to 21 ms, and it operates from -25 to 70 °C. It is protected against miswiring, polarity reversal, and short circuits, and has an IP68 rating for rugged environments. Certifications include CE and cULus, aligning with IEC 60947-5-2 standards. This compact, M12-connected sensor is well-suited for metal-part position sensing, door interlocks, or conveyor-system detection where a small, flush-sensing device is required.
