Balluff BES 516-329-E5-C-S4 Proximity Sensor

Balluff BES 516-329-E5-C-S4 is a compact inductive proximity sensor for flush mounting on metal, sized Ø12 x 45 mm with a 2 mm nominal sensing distance to detect ferrous targets without contact. It comes in a nickel‑plated brass housing with a PBTP sensing face and uses a 3‑wire DC connection with an NPN normally open output, powered from 10–30 V DC and drawing up to 200 mA, via an M12x1 4‑pin S4 connector. The sensor’s performance includes an assured distance Sa of 0–1.6 mm, a repeatability of about 5%, and hysteresis around 15%, with a maximum switching frequency of 5 kHz, and it is rated IP68 for rugged industrial use with ambient operation from −25 to +70 °C.
