Description:
The Balluff BES-516-357-S-4-C (BES01HE) is a cylindrical inductive proximity switch that detects metal targets without contact, delivering a 4 mm nominal sensing distance in a non-flush, M12x1 4‑pin A‑coded configuration. Encased in a Ø12 x 70 mm stainless‑steel housing with a non‑flush installation style, it carries an IP68 rating for rugged industrial environments and operates from −40 to 85 °C. Powered by 10–30 V DC, it provides a DC normally open (NPN) output rated up to 200 mA, with a static voltage drop near 2.5 V and a switching frequency up to 2,500 Hz; maximum load capacitance is 0.5 µF. Key electrical characteristics include hysteresis up to 15% of the sensing distance Sr, repeat accuracy up to 5%, and a Ui insulation rating of 250 V, with protection against miswiring and cULus and CE approvals.
