Balluff BES01HE BES 516-357-S4-C Inductive Proximity Sensor

Balluff BES01HE (BES 516-357-S4-C) is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor that detects metal targets without contact. It’s an M12x1 style device with a Ø12 x 70 mm stainless steel housing and a non-flush installation, offering a 4 mm sensing range and a normally open NPN output, wired through a 4-pin M12 connector. The sensor uses a PBT sensing face and operates on 10–30 VDC, rated for ambient temperatures from −40 °C to 85 °C and an IP68 protection rating for dust and water ingress. With a switching frequency of 2,500 Hz and a supply current up to about 200 mA, it is CE, UKCA, and cULus approved and WEEE compliant. This compact, non-flush inductive sensor is well suited to automation tasks that require reliable metal-object detection in tight spaces, such as inline conveyors, robotic pick-and-place, and machine guarding where a robust, high-temperature capable sensor is advantageous.
