Description:

Balluff BGL 120A-003-S49 is a metal-bodied fork-type photoelectric barrier (slot sensor) with a 120 mm fork opening that detects objects passing through the gap using a collimated red laser beam (655 nm) and a 0.3 mm light spot. This BGL0009 device belongs to Balluff's standard A-series fork sensors and operates from 10 to 30 V DC with a PNP output that can be wired as normally open or normally closed via a 3-pin M8 connector. The enclosure is made from die-cast zinc with a painted finish, and the active sensing surface is glass, measuring 10 x 140 x 93 mm overall with a 120 mm fork width. As a through-beam fork sensor, it creates a single-direction optical barrier across the 120 mm gap, enabling non-contact presence sensing in compact spaces. The red laser and collimated beam provide a sharp, small-diameter spot for reliable detection of small parts or slots, aligning with standard industrial requirements for slot or fork barrier applications.
