Balluff BGL001J Fiber Optic Photoelectric Sensor
Balluff BGL001J Fiber Optic Photoelectric Sensor
Description:
Balluff BGL001J is a compact, metal-bodied fork-shaped photoelectric sensor (BGL 50A-001-S49) that functions as a fork light barrier with a 50 mm opening. Part of Balluff’s BGL family, it measures 10 x 70 x 88 mm, features a zinc die-cast painted housing, and a glass sensing surface, making it suitable for rugged industrial environments. The device uses a red LED emitter with a light spot of approximately Ø1.5 mm and is powered from 10 to 30 VDC. Its interface is PNP with NO/NC configuration, allowing either normally open or normally closed switching via an M8x1 3-pin connector for straightforward wiring. The BGL001J carries certifications including CE, UKCA, cULus, and WEEE, reflecting its compliance for international use. With a 50 mm fork opening and fork-style geometry, it is designed to detect objects passing through the gap, enabling reliable part presence checks or gating in automated production lines where a rugged, through-beam style sensing solution is required.
