Balluff BGL21-AR Inductive Proximity Sensor
Balluff BGL21-AR Inductive Proximity Sensor
Description:
Balluff BGL21-AR is a slot-style optical sensor designed for label-detection tasks on packaging lines. This 2 mm sensing-distance fork sensor belongs to the BGL 21 family and is configured for opaque on see-through or transparent substrates. The robust housing is made of anodized aluminum with a glass sensing face, sized at 90 × 26 × 20 mm and weighing about 100 g, and it carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. The unit uses a 10 to 30 V DC supply and draws up to 55 mA, with an output that can be configured as either PNP or NPN transistor, supporting up to 100 mA load current. It offers light-on or dark-on operation selectable and includes a teach-in function to set the detection behavior. The device is shipped with an M8 4-pin connector for easy field wiring. Operating temperature range is 0 to +55°C, making it suitable for standard industrial environments. In applications, the BGL21-AR is well-suited for detecting the presence or passage of labels or transparencies on substrates in automated labeling machines, printers, and packaging equipment, where a slim, rugged fork sensor can fit between conveyors or in tight slots without contacting the label itself.
