Balluff BOS 18M-PA-LR10-S4 Photoelectric Sensor

The Balluff BOS 18M-PA-LR10-S4 is an M18 cylindrical retroreflective photoelectric sensor that uses a laser red-light beam to detect targets at ranges from 0 to 16 m. The rugged metal housing measures Ø18 x 81.5 mm and is brass with a nickel finish, featuring a PMMA sensing surface for resilient performance. It operates on 10–30 V DC and is wired via a 4‑pin M12 connector, offering two switching outputs: PNP normally open (NO) and PNP normally closed (NC). For retroreflective sensing, an external reflector (such as Balluff’s R1 family) provides the return signal used to determine object presence. The device is CE and cULus approved and complies with WEEE requirements. Typical applications include presence detection on conveyors, end-of-line sensing, and alignment tasks in automation, packaging, and material-handling lines.
