Balluff BOS008A Photoelectric Sensor

Balluff BOS008A is a diffuse photoelectric sensor with background suppression (BOS 26K-PA-1IE-S4-C) that detects objects by infrared light reflected from the target, enabling reliable presence/absence sensing on conveyors and automation cells. It operates from 10 to 30 V DC and provides two PNP outputs: normally open and normally closed, via a 4-pin M12 connector. The sensor measures 17 x 50 x 50 mm, with an ABS housing and a PMMA active surface, for robust mounting in tight spaces. At 400 mm distance, the light spot is about 20 x 20 mm, with a detectable range of 150–600 mm. This diffuse sensor with background suppression reduces false triggering from background surfaces and textures, making it well suited for detecting small parts on belts, boxes, or metal components in automotive, packaging, and general manufacturing environments. The compact form factor and dual PNP outputs support versatile wiring and integration into existing control schemes.
