Balluff BOS18M-PU-1PD-SA5-C is a cylindrical M18 photoelectric sensor from Balluff’s 18M family, delivering reliable infrared sensing in a compact 75 mm body with a 4-pin M12 connection and a glass sensing face. It operates on 10–30 V DC with reverse-polarity protection and provides up to 100 mA per output, with short-circuit protection on both outputs and a load capacitance rating of 0.2 µF; typical current draw is under 25 mA (ID20) or 21 mA (ID23). The device switches at frequencies up to 800 Hz with a turn-on delay and turn-off delay under 0.65 ms and a hysteresis under 15%, and it includes a 1-turn sensitivity potentiometer for fine-tuning. In the BOS18M variants, detection ranges include 1–800 mm (ID20) and 1–600 mm (ID23) for IR 850 nm sensing, and the unit supports bright- and dark-sensing modes (bright on pin 4, dark on pin 2).
