Description:
The Banner Engineering Maxi-AMP CI3RC2 Current Trip Point Module is a self-contained amplifier that converts the current output of intrinsically safe Banner VALU-BEAM sensors into a reliable trip-point switch. It is powered from 105–130 VAC or 210–250 VAC at 50/60 Hz and provides +24 VDC emitter power (up to 25 mA) to feed the sensor; an INHIBIT input enables gating by a second sensor. The CI3RC2 delivers two isolated outputs: a 5 A SPDT electromechanical relay with contact ratings up to 250 VAC or 24 VDC (resistive load, 5 A; 1/10 HP at 240 VAC) and a SPST opto-isolated transistor for DC logic-level loads (30 VDC max, 20 mA max). Typical switching characteristics include a 10 ms closure time and a 10 ms release time, with a maximum of 20 operations per second and a mechanical life of 20,000,000 cycles. Input trip thresholds are defined as OFF at ≤ 10 mA and ON at ≥ 20 mA, with an overload indication when the input current is between about 30 and 80 mA. Status LEDs indicate the OUTPUT ON state and any input overload/short condition. The CI3RC2 is designed for use with Banner VALU-BEAM SMI912 intrinsically safe sensors and barriers, offering a straightforward way to gate or control loads in hazardous environments while keeping the sensing electronics isolated from the load circuitry.
