Banner Engineering's MM2-TA-12B Muting Module (MMD Series) is a safety relay designed to add muting capability to guarded safety circuits, enabling controlled access to a guarded area during routine maintenance or production changes while preserving protective interlocks. The device provides one muteable dual-channel input and one non-muteable dual-channel input, delivering two PNP safety outputs rated up to 500 mA plus an auxiliary PNP output (250 mA) that follows OSSDs, all powered from a 24 V AC/DC supply and accessible via a removable terminal block in a compact 67.5 mm-wide housing. With self-checking circuitry, auto and manual reset options, and EDM (electronic diagnostic monitoring), the MM2-TA-12B offers continuous monitoring of safety paths and muting status, supported by a PFHd of 1.2 x 10^-9 to quantify the risk reduction in demanding automation environments.
