Banner Engineering Corporation SMI306EQ Photoelectric Sensor

SMI306EQ is Banner Engineering's intrinsically safe emitter for the SMI30 Series barrel-style photoelectric sensors, designed for opposed-mode operation in hazardous locations. It is powered from 10–30 V DC and provides a long-range infrared beam with a sensing distance up to 140 meters in Frequency A configurations. The emitter uses a 3-pin Mini QD connection (7/8 in. quick disconnect) and is housed in a rugged thermoplastic barrel rated IP67 and NEMA 4X for dust and water resistance. Operating temperatures span -40 to +70 C. As the emitter in a through-beam/opposed-mode pair, it requires a compatible receiver and amplifier to complete the sensing system. This unit features an infrared LED sensing beam and comes in a compact 3-pin configuration, making it ideal for long-range object detection on conveyors, packaging lines, and other industrial applications where hazardous environments demand an intrinsically safe solution. The SMI30 family is engineered for harsh environments, combining rugged construction with long-range performance in a compact barrel form factor.
