Banner Engineering Corporation USCD-1T3 Micro-Screen Control Box
Description:
Banner Engineering's MICRO-SCREEN USCD-1T3 Control Box is a MICRO-SCREEN system controller designed for machine guarding with Banner's light-screen components. As part of the MICRO-SCREEN family, it coordinates with compatible emitters and receivers to monitor a defined area and drive machine-control elements via dedicated safety outputs. The unit provides three essential outputs: FSD1, FSD2, and SSD, enabling both dual-fault sensing and a latch function to hold a defined-area state. It features dual diagnostic displays visible through clear windows on the cover to simplify configuration and troubleshooting, and it supports 115/230 V AC input power, wired to L and N with grounding as appropriate. All MICRO-SCREEN output contacts must be used to ensure proper safety interlock behavior. For perimeter guarding applications, Banner's documentation notes that actuation of a Reset switch is typically required before dangerous machine motion can resume after an interruption, reinforcing safe restart practices. A key flexibility of MICRO-SCREEN systems is that, regardless of the control box model, any compatible MICRO-SCREEN Emitter and Receiver (with the same beam length and count) can be paired with any control box, allowing mix-and-match setups without mandatory one-to-one component matching. The USCD-1T3 thus offers a compact, module-based approach to implementing reliable light-screen safety as part of Banner's industrial automation portfolio.
