The Banner Engineering D12EP6FP is a DIN‑rail‑mountable plastic fiber optic sensor from the D12 Expert Series that runs on 10–30 VDC and provides a single SPST PNP (sourcing) output over a 2 m attached cable. It accepts Banner plastic fiber optics with either unterminated plastic fibers or T5 termination, and includes remote teach with a bargraph LED indicator to show signal strength and status. Designed for rugged industrial environments, the unit operates from −20 °C to 70 °C and up to 90% relative humidity at 50 °C, while offering IP11 protection and a NEMA 4X rating. The sensor features a thermoplastic housing, a 5‑pin cable connection, and a minimum response time of 0.2 ms with repeatability of 66 µs, making it suitable for fast, discrete object detection on conveyors and automated assemblies where a compact plastic fiber optic head is advantageous.
