Banner Engineering ES-FL-2A Industrial Photoelectric Sensor

The ES-FL-2A Emergency Stop Monitoring Safety Relay from Banner Engineering is a DIN-rail mounted safety module that monitors an external emergency stop switch or interlock and provides two redundant output circuits. It uses a 24 V AC/DC coil and features four safety contacts arranged as 4PST-3NO/1NC (three Form A, one Form B) across two output channels (K1 and K2), with each channel capable of switching up to 250 VAC or 250 VDC at 4 A resistive load. A non-safety auxiliary contact (41–42) provides a monitoring signal to a process controller. Indicators show input power and output status, and there are no user adjustments. After the emergency stop is released, a reset is required to prevent restart merely by closing the E-stop; the contacts are mechanically linked to detect failures and will disable outputs if a fault is found. The ES-FL-2A conforms to UL 991 and EN 418/EN 954-1 safety standards and specifies a 25 ms operate time, along with a mechanical life of up to 10,000,000 operations and electrical life up to 100,000 cycles at full resistive load. Note that this model is listed as obsolete by some distributors, with Banner recommending substitutes such as ES-FA-11AA for current designs.
