Banner Engineering ES-TN-14H5 Safety Relay Module
Description:
Banner ES-TN-14H5 Safety Relay Module is a 24 VDC safety controller designed for emergency-stop and guard-monitoring applications, delivering eight normally open safety contacts across two output banks (K1/K2 and K3/K4) plus an auxiliary normally closed contact. Outputs K1 and K2 provide four redundant, forced-guided contacts (eight total) with an auxiliary NC contact, while outputs K3 and K4 supply four redundant delayed contacts (eight total) with an auxiliary NC contact, enabling both immediate stop circuits and timed safety interlocks. The module operates from 24 V DC, ±20%, drawing about 5 W, with contact ratings up to 250 V AC/DC and 4 A per contact and a minimum load of 30 mA at 24 V; transient suppression is recommended when switching inductive loads. Delayed outputs have selectable timings: ES-TN-14H5 offers delays from 0 to 20 seconds, while ES-TN-14H6 extends to 0 to 200 seconds, with typical K1/K2 response around 50 ms and the delayed outputs adapting to the chosen delay. Input devices require dry contacts: an E-stop switch normally closed capable of 20 mA at 24 V DC and a reset switch normally open capable of 20 mA at 24 V DC. The unit includes six green LEDs and one red fault/status LED, and is housed in polycarbonate with DIN-rail mounting for standard 35 mm rails; it must be installed inside an enclosure rated NEMA 3 or IEC IP54 or better. Operating conditions span 0° to +50°C and up to 90% humidity at 50°C, with a mechanical life of 50,000,000 operations and an electrical life of 100,000 cycles at full resistive load. Banner lists ES-TN-14H5 as an obsolete safety module (model 68423), so consider current replacement options on Banner’s site.
