Description:

The Banner Engineering IA13SMTAM600 is a fiber-optic photoelectric sensor in Banner's IA13 family, part of the Glass Fiber series, built for through-beam sensing with an opposed-mode arrangement that uses individual fiber cables and a right-angled sensing orientation. Within the IA13 family, SMTA and SMETA variants describe through-beam fiber-optic sensors; SMTA corresponds to the through-beam style, while SMETA is described as an individual, right-angled fiber optic sensor, offering flexible mounting options. These devices are used in automation to detect the presence or absence of parts along a fiber-optic sensing path, enabling sensing around difficult geometry or environments where a traditional fixed head might be impractical. By leveraging remote fiber heads, the IA13SMTAM600 can position the sensing element away from dust, splash, or mechanical obstructions while maintaining reliable detection on a compact head. The IA13 line is designed to integrate with Banner readers and fiber optic cables to create compact, remote-sensing solutions for manufacturing, packaging, and material handling applications.
