Banner Engineering LIM-2 Programmable Logic Controller Module
Banner Engineering LIM-2 Programmable Logic Controller Module
Description:
Banner Engineering LIM-2 Logic Inspection Module is a compact, plug‑in logic module (3.0 x 3.0 x 1.5 inches) with a standard octal base designed for use in Banner OS‑8 sockets. It operates on 10–30 VDC and draws about 25 mA (exclusive of loads), and can be powered by Banner CP12C or CP12RC power supplies. The module provides two logic inputs—GATE and DATA IN—and two NPN open‑collector outputs (DATA OUT and DATA OUT) with a maximum sink current of 150 mA per output. Four LEDs behind the top cover indicate GATE, DATA IN, and both DATA OUT signals, offering immediate visibility of the module’s activity. Logic input levels require a low below 2 VDC and a high that is either an open circuit or above 6 VDC, with input devices capable of sinking up to 4 mA. Programming is performed via DIP switches located behind the removable top cover, enabling configuration of timing and gating behavior. The LIM‑2 supports two modes—one‑shot and latched—where outputs respond at the end of each GATE window; in one‑shot mode the output pulses for a user‑adjustable duration (documentation shows ranges in the low‑range and high‑range configurations, commonly 0.005–0.1 s and 0.05–1 s, respectively). Built into a NEMA 1 anodized aluminum enclosure, the LIM‑2 is a dedicated logic‑inspection module rather than a full PLC, ideal for simple, timing‑ and gate‑driven interfacing between sensors and actuators in Banner automation setups.
