Banner Engineering MA4L Micro-Amp Latch Logic Module
Banner Engineering MA4L Micro-Amp Latch Logic Module
Description:
Banner Engineering MA4L Micro-Amp Latch Logic Module is a 10–30 VDC plug-in logic module in the MICRO-AMP system that provides two complementary open-collector outputs (NPN) for a single, rugged, logic device, enabling either a SET/RESET latch or an edge-triggered D-type latch for simple in-line sensor logic. It directly accepts outputs from other MICRO-AMP modules and the NPN current-sinking output of self-contained DC sensors, with an on-board red indicator LED that signals when the normally open (N/O) output conducts. The MA4L supports two latch modes: a SET/RESET latch using the SET and RESET inputs, and an edge-triggered latch via the INPUT pin, with the INHIBIT input able to gate the latch or engage alternate-action divide-by-two logic; inputs are buffered for about 1 ms, with a logic low defined as less than 2 V and a logic high defined as 6 V or an open circuit. Power is supplied from 10 to 30 VDC with less than 20 mA quiescent current (excluding load) and up to 10% ripple, all inside a totally encapsulated VALOX housing with gold-flashed pins. Output capability includes two open-collector NPN transistors (complementary outputs; one normally open, one normally closed) each sinking up to 150 mA with a saturation voltage under 0.5 V at 10 mA, and the unit operates from 0 to 70 °C. Common applications include inspection/rejection tasks where the latch/flip-flop behavior helps condition sensor signals for downstream logic.
