The Banner MGE3016A emitter is a 30-inch (2.5 ft) tubular infrared light-emitting module designed for Banner’s MACHINE-GUARD System to provide point-of-operation guarding on production machinery. It houses a row of synchronized modulated infrared LEDs in a rugged metal housing and includes end swivel brackets for quick mounting and precise alignment. This emitter is part of a modular trio that also includes an MGR receiver and either an MGCA-4A or MGCB-4A controller; the emitter and receiver are connected to the controller with quick-disconnect, five-wire cables, enabling the system to monitor a defined guarded area. In operation, if an opaque object larger than about 1.50 inches in cross-section enters the sensing field, the MACHINE-GUARD outputs will interrupt the guarded machine’s control to stop motion.
