Banner Engineering OPBT2QD Fiber Optic Sensor

OPBT2QD Omni-Beam fiber optic sensor is a DC-powered sensor head designed to work with Banner’s Omni-Beam power blocks and to perform remote, fiber-enabled detection via a compact 4-pin Mini QD connector, powered from 10–30 V DC. With bi-modal DC outputs, it provides one NPN and one PNP output for Load and Alarm signals, enabling direct PLC interfacing; the Load output is rated around 1/2 A (infinite life) and the Alarm output around 0.2 A. The fiber head accepts standard 1/8-inch optical fiber and is compatible with OSBFAC configurations; performance and sensing range depend on the fiber length and lens option used, with ranges tied to the fiber and sensor setup. The Power Block supplies regulated low-voltage DC to the sensor head and houses the two outputs, aligning with Banner's OMNI-BEAM DC models (OPBT2 family). Banner lists OPBT2QD as obsolete, so consider current replacement options from Banner for new designs.
