Banner Engineering OPEJ5-UNMP Power Block Module is the AC/DC power interface for OMNI-BEAM E-Series sensor heads, delivering a regulated low-voltage supply to the sensor circuitry and providing a robust load-switch path to external circuitry. It powers the sensor head and, when used, the logic module, via an internal regulator that outputs +8 V DC to the head while driving the external load through a solid-state output. For AC input, power block models in the OPEJ5 family (including QD variants) employ partial phase firing to accommodate a wide 24 to 250 VAC range; DC input is 24 to 36 V DC. The module is epoxy-encapsulated for harsh environments and rated from -40 °C to +70 °C. The OPEJ5-UNMP offers a DPST arrangement where the Alarm output switches in parallel with the main Load output, enabling a second load path without a separate supply. In typical installations, it sits between the scanner block and external circuitry, enabling Banner’s OMNI-BEAM sensors to operate reliably on industrial power sources; it is designed to pair with sensor heads such as OSEE and, when used, the compatible logic modules to form a complete sensing solution. Note that peak current demand on AC lines can be significant (up to 1–2 A per sensor), so transformer capacity should be considered when multiple sensors share a circuit. This power block is part of Banner’s OPEJ5 power block family and is intended for use with Banner’s multi-piece OMNI-BEAM system to tailor configurations to specific sensing applications.
