Banner Engineering OTBVR81QD Momentary Action Optical Touch Button Switch
Description:
The Banner Engineering OPTO-TOUCH OTBVR81QD is a momentary-action optical touch button switch in the OTB Series that replaces capacitive touch interfaces and mechanical pushbuttons in control panels. It uses an infrared sensing beam and a field cover to detect a finger break without physical contact, delivering a clean, wear-free actuation in industrial controls. The QD version, OTBVR81QD, provides a 5-pin mini quick-disconnect connection for straightforward wiring, while existing non-QD variants are configured with cable options. This model carries a 20–30 V AC or DC supply range and features a SPDT electromechanical relay output, enabling simple start/stop or signal-branching functionality in automation environments. The housing is black with the field cover color typically specified as yellow on the W/Y variant, aligning with Banner’s color options for field indicators. As a momentary device, the output returns to its de-energized state when the touch is released, making it suitable for intermittent push-button-style operations in equipment controls and human-machine interfaces. With its optical sensing and rugged field-attachable design, the OTBVR81QD offers a dust- and debris-resilient alternative to traditional touch switches while maintaining compact, panel-friendly dimensions and easy integration into Banner’s broader OPTO-TOUCH ecosystem.
