PIRS1X166UMPM2.4 is Banner Engineering’s plastic-fiber optic sensing assembly designed for opposed-mode through-beam applications. It bundles two plastic fibers laid out side by side with right-angled sensing to detect interruptions across a narrow gap, making it ideal for compact conveyor, packaging, and machine-automation setups where access to the sensing head is limited. The fiber set features a core diameter of 16 x 0.25 mm (plastic fiber) and a 2 m fiber length, with a rectangular, side-view profile and a free-cut capability to tailor the fiber length to your layout. This assembly serves as the sensing element in Banner’s fiber-optic through-beam configurations and pairs with Banner sensing controls that accept plastic fiber optic assemblies.
