Banner Engineering Q23SN6RQ-60232 Opposed Receiver
Description:
The Banner Engineering Q23SN6RQ-60232 Opposed Receiver is a 10–30 V DC powered receiver with a 150 mA current draw, designed for opposed-mode through-beam sensing in industrial automation. It provides a discrete NPN output, operates in dark-ON mode, and includes a visible red LED indicator to confirm detection events. Housed in a rectangular thermoplastic enclosure, it carries IP67 and NEMA 4X ratings for washdown-ready reliability and withstands operating temperatures from -20 to 55 C. The unit uses a 4-pin configuration, features a single-turn potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment, and delivers a very fast response time around 0.3 ms with a 100 ms power-up delay. In opposed-mode operation, the receiver offers an up to 8,000 mm (8 m) sensing distance and relies on an acrylic lens to maintain beam integrity. Additional status support includes a health/marginal signal output, aiding diagnostics in complex systems. The 60232 variant sits within Banner’s Q23SN6RQ family, intended to pair with a matching opposed-mode emitter for reliable beam interruption detection across conveyors, machine guards, and automation cells, while maintaining compact form factor and straightforward installation. Humidity tolerance reaches 90% RH at 50 C, ensuring stable performance in humid industrial spaces, with integrated LED indicators and robust, discrete 4‑pin connections for easy wiring and diagnosis.
