Banner Engineering Q3XTBLD-Q8 Photoelectric Sensor

The Banner Engineering Q3XTBLD-Q8 is a laser contrast sensor in the Q3XT series designed for diffuse/contrast sensing with a 0 to 300 mm range and a visible red laser, ideal for detecting light-dark or color-contrast features on parts on a conveyor or assembly line. It operates on a 10 to 30 V DC supply and provides two bipolar outputs (1 NPN and 1 PNP) through a 5-pin M12 integral quick-disconnect, enabling easy interfacing with common controllers. The unit carries IP67, IP68, and IP69K protection along with a NEMA 4X rating, making it suitable for washdown environments and harsh industrial settings. In addition to contrast detection, this model supports both dark-on and light-on configurations and offers a fast response time around 0.25 ms, with a maximum sensing range up to 300 mm, leveraging the Q3XT’s laser diffuse sensing approach for stable detection of targets with varying reflectivity. Applications include presence/absence checks, feature detection on labels or marks, and quick quality-control checks on production lines where precise contrast measurement is required.
