Banner Engineering Q45BW22FPQ Fiber Optic Sensor
Banner Engineering Q45BW22FPQ Fiber Optic Sensor
Description:
The Banner Engineering Q45BW22FPQ is a rugged fiber-optic amplifier in Banner’s Q45 Series, packaged in a rectangular thermoplastic enclosure with IP67 (NEMA 4X) protection for harsh environments. It accepts 90–250 VAC power and provides a single SPST solid-state relay output rated up to 300 mA, making it suitable for driving small loads or signaling circuits from fiber-optic sensors. The unit supports plastic and glass fiber optics and accepts unterminated plastic fibers or T5 terminations, with a mini-style integral quick disconnect (7/8 in. QD). The Q45BW22FPQ offers a three-pin discrete I/O interface, adjustable via a built-in potentiometer, and indicator LEDs to verify sensing status. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 70°C, with humidity up to 90% at 50°C, and a 100 ms delay at power-up. Its minimum response time is 2 ms and repeatability is 500 µs, ensuring reliable signaling in fast-moving or vibration-prone applications. Not intrinsically safe and without remote teach functionality, this amplifier is designed to pair with Banner’s Q45 fiber-optic sensor heads for industrial sensing on challenging lines, where fiber optics protect the sensing face from contaminants while enabling sensing through barriers or harsh atmospheres.
