The Banner QM42VN6D is a diffuse-mode photoelectric sensor in the QM42/QMT42 Series, designed for rugged industrial use in a rectangular zinc alloy die-cast housing. It delivers up to 400 mm sensing distance using an infrared beam at 880 nm, with a 10–30 V DC supply and a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable for straightforward installation. The output is SPDT (complementary) NPN, enabling either normally open or normally closed signaling, and the unit supports light/dark operate, a 100 ms power-up delay, and about 250 µs repeatability. The housing carries an IP67 rating (NEMA 4X), includes a potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment, and LEDs to indicate sensor status during operation. With four conductors in the cable and a compact rectangular form factor, QM42VN6D is well-suited to diffuse object detection on conveyors, packaging lines, and other automation assemblies requiring reliable, durable sensing.
