Banner Engineering Corporation R55FP Color Mark Sensor

The Banner Engineering R55FP Color Mark Sensor is a fiber-optic color-mark detector in the R55F Series that reads registration marks on labels and packaging using a red visible LED, with the sensing head guided by plastic optical fiber to reach into tight spaces. It operates from a DC supply of 10–30 V and provides bipolar NPN/PNP discrete outputs, with a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable, a DIN Rail–friendly thermoplastic housing, and IP67 sealing (NEMA 4X) for demanding industrial environments. Maximum sensing distance depends on the fiber; with 0.040‑inch (1.0 mm) diameter fibers and a red LED, black-to-white contrasts can be detected up to 60 mm (2.4 in). The model supports unterminated plastic fibers or T5 termination, and Banner also offers a white-LED variant in the same family (R55FPW) for alternate color sensitivity while maintaining the same form factor and mounting compatibility.
