Banner Engineering SBDL1 Photoelectric Sensor

The Banner Engineering SBDL1 is a MULTI-BEAM diffuse-mode scanner block that detects presence at medium range with a 60 cm (24 in) sensing distance and a fast 1 ms on/off response. As a modular component of Banner’s three-part MULTI-BEAM system, it is used with a separate power block and logic module and wired via a 3/4-wire interface. The sensor operates with infrared light at 940 nm and delivers a repeatability of 0.3 ms; the SBDL1 uses the UC-L upper-cover lens, differentiating it from the SBD1 (which uses UC-D). In diffuse mode, it enables rapid, non-contact detection of objects within its range in industrial automation, but Banner cautions that MULTI-BEAM sensors are not suitable for personnel protection applications.
