Banner Engineering's SI-LM40KVE Safety Interlock Body is the metal housing component of the SI-LM40 Series safety interlock, designed to hold two normally closed safety contacts for positive-opening safety circuits (IEC 60947-5-1). The rugged, die-cast aluminum enclosure measures 113 × 40 × 42 mm and carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water ingress in harsh industrial environments. It is intended for inline actuation within SI-LM40 kit configurations and compatible with actuators such as the SI-QM-90A, enabling Cat 4 safety configurations with SIL CL 3 performance. A minimum hinged door size of 500 mm is specified for installations using this interlock body, and the unit provides a wide operating temperature range from -30 °C to 80 °C with an approximate mechanical life of 1 million operations. Rated for 10 A AC switching in the SI-LM40 interlock family, the KVE variant combines a robust metal housing with reliable, two NC safety contacts to help ensure the machine cannot operate when a safety door is open, while offering straightforward wiring through the built-in wiring chamber.
