Banner Engineering SLM50B6-74977 Slot Type Photoelectric Sensor

Banner SLM50B6-74977 is a rugged, fixed-distance slot photoelectric sensor in the SLM Series, featuring a nickel-plated zinc die-cast housing and a 50 mm slot width for slot-style detection. It operates from a 10–30 V DC supply and provides bipolar outputs (1 NPN and 1 PNP) on a 4-pin connection via a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable. The compact emitter/receiver pair is IP67, NEMA 4X rated, with an acrylic lens and a potentiometer for adjustments, and it performs in light/dark modes with a 0.5 ms response time and 95 µs repeatability. Its sensing range reaches up to 50 mm, while objects as small as 0.6 mm can be detected, and the sensor occupies a slot depth/array length of 60.8 mm and an overall depth of 82 mm. It includes a 100 ms power-up delay, operates over a -20 to 60 °C temperature range, and tolerates up to 95% relative humidity at 55 °C. Remote Teach is not supported on this model, and status indicators are provided by LEDs to aid troubleshooting on automation lines.
