SLM80P6Q is Banner Engineering's SLM Series rugged nickel-plated metal slot sensor—a fixed-distance emitter/receiver pair housed in a nickel-plated zinc die-cast body with an 80 mm slot width. It operates from 10–30 V dc and provides a PNP output through a 3-pin M8 integral quick-disconnect connector. The sensor is IP67 and NEMA 4X rated for harsh environments. With a maximum sensing range of 80 mm and a slot depth/array length of 60.8 mm, it can detect metal objects as small as 0.75 mm. It uses an acrylic lens, offers a potentiometer for adjustment, and supports light/dark operate with LEDs to indicate status. Key timing specs include 0.5 ms output response and 95 µs repeatability, with a 100 ms power-up delay. The operating temperature range is -20 to 60 C, and it tolerates up to 95% relative humidity at 55 C.
