The SM2A31RQD is Banner Engineering’s compact Mini-Beam receiver for through-beam sensing, designed for opposed-mode operation in tight spaces where a clear line of sight exists between emitter and receiver, delivering reliable absence/presence detection across a short to moderate gap up to 3 meters, with fast response suitable for high-speed production lines. It is powered from 24 to 240 VAC and provides a SPST solid-state output via a 3-pin Micro-style Quick Disconnect (QD), enabling straightforward panel mounting and easy field wiring in standard industrial control cabinets. The 3 m (10 ft) sensing range applies to the receiver in compatible through-beam configurations, and this model is the QD-equipped variant of Banner’s AC Voltage Mini-Beam family, explicitly described as an opposed-mode receiver. This self-contained AC-operated sensor is intended for use in ordinary factory environments where reliable object presence detection across a gap with a fixed emitter is required.
