Banner Engineering's Mini-Beam SM312CV2GQD is a compact, self-contained photoelectric sensor built for precise presence/absence detection of small parts in tight spaces. As part of the Mini-Beam DC Voltage Series, it uses convergent sensing with a 43 mm focal point and a Visible Green LED (525 nm) to reliably detect small targets within a 49 mm sensing range. It runs on 10-30 V DC and offers bipolar outputs (1 NPN and 1 PNP), accessible through a 4-pin M12 integral quick disconnect. The rugged IP67 housing, constructed from thermoplastic with an acrylic lens, suits washdown or dusty industrial environments. Adjustments are made via a potentiometer, and the unit supports both Light-Operate and Dark-Operate modes, enabling flexible integration into different control schemes. Operational temperature ranges from -20 to 70 °C, with a fast 1 ms output response, a 100 ms power-up delay, and about 300 microseconds repeatability. The SM312CV2GQD is designed to detect small, near-field targets, and its compact form factor is well-suited for mounting in restricted spaces where traditional sensors may not fit.
