Banner Engineering's SM312DSC is a Mini-Beam Series diffuse infrared photoelectric sensor housed in a rectangular thermoplastic enclosure with M18 mounting. This self-contained DC device operates on 10–30 V DC and outputs a bipolar 4-wire signal (NPN/PNP) via a cable, supporting light- and dark-operate sensing, with a maximum diffuse-sensing distance of 380 mm using an infrared LED. The unit features a 2 m cable and an IP67 rating with a NEMA 4X enclosure, ensuring protection against dust and water in harsh industrial conditions. Constructed with a thermoplastic primary housing, SM312DSC is designed for diffuse-reflection detection on compact machinery and conveyors, offering reliable object presence sensing in tight spaces where standard M18 mounting is preferred.
