The Banner Engineering SM312F is a self-contained MINI-BEAM photoelectric sensor that uses an infrared 880 nm glass-fiber optic for sensing and is powered from 10–30 V DC. It provides one NPN and one PNP bipolar output and can be configured for either dark-on or light-on operation. Standard models ship with a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable, and the sensing range varies with the connected fiber length. Banner also offers SM312F variants with different fiber lengths, such as the SM312F-W-30.
