SM312FMHS is Banner Engineering's MINI-BEAM fiber-optic photoelectric sensor—an exceptionally compact, self-contained DC-operated receiver that detects targets through a glass-fiber optic path, enabling sensing where space constraints prevent a direct sensor head. It uses an infrared light source at 880 nm and supports selectable Dark-ON or Light-ON operation; its sensing range is determined by the attached fiber, while the electronics provide bipolar outputs (1 NPN and 1 PNP) and a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable for straightforward wiring, all in a package that aligns with Banner's MINI-BEAM DC Voltage Series and offers a rapid 0.3 ms response time to capture fast events. The device operates from 10 to 30 V DC, making it compatible with common industrial controls, and the fiber-based configuration supports routing flexibility for compact installations where direct line-of-sight sensing isn't feasible.
